Feria a Sabado de Otavalo/Saturday Market in Otavalo, Ecuador

The Feria on Saturday in Otavalo is one of the best markets in the world. The largest in South America. A central hub for centuries, surrounded by diverse eco-systems producing world class, exotic & practical organic foods sold inexpensively or easily bartered.
The textiles from our valley stand independently. There is NO other place on the globe with the styles, experience & agrarian relationships juxtaposed efficiently between artist & buyer. Artists-artesanos with generations of training man the looms from Lago San Pablo to Illuman. The entire Mt. Imbabura mountainside participates. Practiced relationships between Feria & the Indigenous. They have occupied this valley for centuries. Rarely, within the paradigm of 'banking' does economic fairness exist. Here, equitable purchase power offers enjoyable consumer environments. Goods straight to those wanting. Inca traditions blended with pre-colonial populations defines a standard globally of quality, affordability & access!

This papaya was purchased in Otavalo the first Saturday of November.
